You know how I said it was a buzy last week, well we had our ukulele preformance also. Te RITO 2 tamariki have loved their ukulele lessons this term and are looking forward to continuing them next term!

Red RITO Rascals

WOW - what a week, what a day! Today was Red Socks Day, where we celebrated inspirational leaders like Sir Peter Blake as well as local legends our Crusaders playing at home tonight! 

Also today we completed our explanation on 'How does Popcorn pop?' and Seth won the writing prize and a bag of yummy popcorn.

If that wasn't enough excitement for one day, this afternoon we made Red Sock Day a little more exciting by making red sock puppets!

Room 2 Super Spellers

This morning, we practised our spelling out on the concrete with chalk. It was hard to remember some of our spelling words especially with cold fingers! Check out these super spellers!

Shared Stories

In room 2, we have been learning to use google drive to share and publish our writing. Today we had a go at contributing to our shared stories. This is where Whaea Alice gave us a story title and we got to come up with our own story and each add a sentence or two to the shared document on our ipads.

We learnt some important lessons, like we can't all work on the same line at the same time and we have to reread the story to make sure our sentence makes sense or haven't already been written!

Pirates

There once was a band of young Pirates who sailed the seven seas.  The pirate's name were Jake and Cubby and Rose. They were on a adventure to discover the lost treasure of Captain Cook. All of his Crew were very sad because Jake lost his map. Captain Cook came and he saw the map and he picked up the map, he didn't know it was a trap. A big net fell on Captain Cook, it was a fake map! Jake stole the the map then he followed it and found the treasure. Then the pirates stole the treasure off Captain Cook...

and he lived happily ever after.

Princess

Once upon a time there was a Princess who loved to play dress up. She lost her favourite dress. Did someone steal

it? It was a dragon, that wanted to dress up. The dragon wanted to look pretty. The princess was angry so she said "can I have my dress back?" The dragon said "no you don't deserve it!"

The princess’ dress colour was pink. ...

Next term we are going to try and use google drive (spreadsheets) to record our Daily Maths choices also.

Thoughtful Tamariki

When I arrived at school this morning, after being out of the classroom yesterday, I found someone from room 2 had thoughtfully tucked Jojo in so he could sleep tight last night. I wonder who it was? Leave a comment if you know.
