Fotobabble reflection

Today, we experimented with fotobabble as part of our reflection and thinking about our 5 + a day event last week!

First lesson learnt was to turn the photo before you record our 'babble' !!

Here's a couple of our tests:

5 + a day Shared Lunch and Dress Up Day

Parents and Whanau are invited to come and share our 5+ a day snacks

November is 5+ A Day Fruit and Vegetable Month and to mark our school’s support, we are holding a:   5 + a day Shared Lunch and Dress Up Day

When: Thursday 25th October, 11:30am Parade, 11:45am Shared Lunch

What:
  •  Dress in the colour of your favourite fruit or vegetable.
  •  Costume Parade – Prize for the best dressed
  •  Share healthy snacks (children to bring their normal lunch).
  •  Learn about why eating 5 + a day is important.
  • Adults needed to help refresh our playground with bark and sand after the festivities - creating a healthy, happy environment for our tamariki.

Making Soup

Today is the eve of our big 5 + a day celebration. We are having a Shared Lunch and each class is making a healthy snack to share with the rest of the school.

This afternoon, Riley's Mum Debbie came in to deliver a wonderful parcel of donated vegetables. She stayed to help us 'slice and dice' our vegies ready to cook for tomorrow.

Check out the recipe on Sticky TV's website.

Come back to hear how it goes and what our healthy 5 + a day snacks taste like!

We are authors!

As part of our learning about healthy eating habits and eating 5 or more servings of fruit and vegetables every day. Room 2 read and then rewrote the story of 'The very hungry caterpillar' by Eric Carle.

I've been learning how to create ebooks (write and read books on the iPad).

Here are my first two attempts, the cool thing about ebooks is you can record your voice reading the story. Now we have our own book to read and listen to during 'listen to reading' in the Daily 5.

It's Summer in Room 2

Despite the rain showers this afternoon, we know it's 'almost' summer and time to get our sunhats on!

One serious shot and then a fun one...
